This magnificent Dutch Brass Tobacco box dates back to the early 18th Century.   It has beautiful engravings showing multiple coat of arms on the one side and portraits and a mystical creature on the other side, this no doubt was once own by a noble man.

It would look great cleaned up, and restored to its near original glory.

The hand wrought engraving is beautiful and has wear - age consistent from being handled over the last 300 years.

This kind of tobacco box was made for the transportation of tobacco. The Netherlands was one of the largest traders in Tobacco and also famous manufacturers of related accessories at this time. These boxes were often produced in Germany and then exported to the Netherlands either already engraved to order or plain ready to be engraved by the purchaser.

There is obvious and expected age related wear, the inside has some old soldering, please refer to the photos.  It measures 11cm wide and is a rare and interesting piece.
