A fantasric curio box, crafted by Peerage of London featuring a hinged top and wooden interior. This box is designed with scenes titled “Cries of London” in relief. Includes “Old Chairs to Mend”, “New Love Songs”, “Scissors to Grind”, “Do You Want Any Matches”, “Primrose”, “Milk Below Maids”, “New Mackerel”, “Turnips and Carrots ’Ho”, “Hot Spice Ginger Bread”, “Sweet China Oranges” and “Duke Cherries”. 

The scenes depicted are from William Marshall Craig’s Cries of London prints, which portray the realities of life for street traders in the early 19th century .

It is in great vintage shape with minimal wear from use, a few minor nicks and dings, very minor. 
 

The box measures 6" by 3.5"  by 3.25" high
